My 706 is dripping at the bottom of the fuel injector pump so I got new copper seals for it. And I was wondering if I take the line off the pump to replace the seals do I have to bleed that line? If so whats the best way?

Also I'm replacing the gasket on the side that has the inspection plate and of course the bolts are 3.50 X16 so I haven't bought them yet. but I was looking at one, and if I take the vinyl washer off of the screw, you can see the outline of the hole it was covering, course being vinyl it holds that shape, but if I take it off the screw, the back side that was against the screw head still looks new and undamaged. Can I just flip those vinyl washers over and be like putting new ones on it?

Thank for any reply.

I think we need to know what engine you have in your 706. The D282 uses a RoosaMaster pump while the D310 uses a Bosch pump which is completely different. If you let us know what pump you have we may be able to better answer your questions.

well got the seals replaced on the fuel injector lines.........no leaks so far. Some only had a small steel washer on the top and one had one from a different model, quite a job, hope not to have to do that again for a long time.

I turned the washers over on those 16 screws in that inspection cover. I did buy 4 new ones because I broke one trying to get it off (my fault) and 3 others the hole didn't seem quite centered. 12 old ones with washer flipped over and 4 new ones (16 bucks for those 4) and no leaks so far. time will tell I guess.

There was a time when a steel washer was provided as an alternative to the copper washers.
There is also a two piece washer available that is a steel washer with a nylon insert that does the actual sealing.

Thanks Jim I guess that solves that. The 3 hard ones to get to had the steel washer and one with nylon insert as you said. Had to use a small mirror to see the back ones and make sure nothing was in the holes. thanks to all for comments.

Now I see it is leaking around the throttle assembly. Is it possible to remove the linkage and replace the o rings without removing the pump from the tractor?
