756 hydraulics

Wondering if the hydraulic valves, seat and remote valves off something like a 766 would fit on a 756? I have a 756 with a single remote. It needs some help to get the pressure we need to run a hay conditioner, so we are planning a new pump, and pressure relief valve this fall. Also would like to add a second remote, and a better seat if something from a later model might work.

Run a pressure test of the hydralics first. You could have a worn out pump(probably do).If pump is good, you can change the relief valve(under the right side of seat).should be at least 1450 psi.A second valve block can be added to the existing one. Then you will need the handle, etc.A valve bank from a 766 or....wont give any more pressure or volume.

Just what kind of pressure you looking to get or need ?? and what GPM do you need ?? Keep in mind that the filter can only handle 14 GPM , yes you can install a 18 GPM pump BUT it will suck more then the filter can flow.

Would the 766 parts get a better seat arrangement? Maybe a hydraulic suspension?

Don't really know pressure. I know it won't lift a 12' Hesston hay conditioner...a sickle machine, not a disc moco. We rigged up a deal using a 3x36" slave cylinder in the lift side of the circuit to get by, but need to do something more permanent.

Something is definitely wrong.A 706/56 should have no problems lifting a swather. You need to do a pressure check.Bet you have a bad hitch pump. There other things that can cause low pressure-bad relief valve or blown O ring somewhere.....

A 12' Hesston mower/conditioner is HEAVY and the lift mechanism is a pi$$ poor design. Dad's got the CaseIH version. The 856 won't lift it all the way up, even with a new pump. The 1066 BARELY lifts it and I think it's set for 2000 PSI.

The only tractor that will lift it is the Maxxum, and I think that has a 2500 or 3000 PSI hydraulic system.

Even with a new pump and a high pressure relief valve it may not be enough to lift the mower.

On the 766, it might have a hydraulic seat or it might not. Most of them have mechanical seats that I've seen.

The valve stack will bolt right into the 756. They are identical for all practical purposes. No need to go further than that.

I did get more info over the weekend. Dad did test pressure last summer, 1400 psi. Don't know GPM.

Would the relief be stuck that would fix, or is this for sure a pump?

If the swather uses a standard SAE cylinder (8 1/2" long) I would say your best bet is to find a larger diameter cylinder. 1400 psi isn't much if the swather has bad geometry in the lift linkage.
