What is the going rate for a good 300U in your area? Power steering, live PTO, and FH, tires and wheels are the same as new. I have been asking 2500.00(YOU HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE) and no takers yet. What do you think. Sorry about the cap lock.

With PS,, live PTO, and like new rubber all around then I would say your price is very fair.

I paid $1100 for mine. It was a runner, TA not working, but works in direct drive. Manual steering with no problems. I've since replaced the clutch disk and bearings, head gasket, fuel tank, sediment bowl and 2 bent push rods for a total of about $500. Tires are carp, but they'll probably last until next season.

I would think, with good tires and a TA that works, your price is not out of range.

After buying and fixing up my 300u, here are the key factors affecting conditions/price:
1. Hydraulics: Are all three valves working, handles tight, 3 pt works correctly, high pump pressure, etc.
2. TA works, no slipping under load.
3. Live pto under heavy bush hog load does not slip, will stall engine
4. Power steering works, no wobble going down the road in 5th gear,
5. Each cylinder has good compression & oil pressure
6. Rims/tires are in great shape and loaded
7. All cosmetic items work, lights, radiator, seat, etc.

if your 300u meets all of these items, it is worth $3,000 minimum.

How long, and where did you advertise?

If you've only had it out there a couple days, and only advertised in one place, then there's your answer.

If you want something to sell fast, you have to:

1. Sell it cheap
-or-
2. Advertise it in lots of places

Otherwise, you need to be patient until the right person comes along that wants your tractor and agrees with your price.

Where are you located? In Kansas I would think it would gone already. I see a lot of old Ford 9Ns and 8Ns going for close to that price. The IPTO would be VERY handy on that small of tractor.

I just bought a 300U this past Spring. I had done a lot of looking around and watched 2-3 in "well used" condition sell for $11-1200 on ebay. This is how I value things, SOLD auctions. Not what people are asking on Craigs. That is nonsense because the same tractors at the same inflated prices are sitting there, sometimes for years. But back to my story...a very nice 300U came up for sale at auction here locally and it had the correct 2-16 FH plow for the tractor with center link. New tires, a lot of engine work had been done. Fires up every time you turn the key. I paid $2800 for the package and was happy with my deal. What the seller managed to hide from me? Rear main is leaking and the PTO linkage was worn and did not operate the PTO. I fixed the latter and left the former for another day. HTH

I did not think I was out in left field but some times you just need another opinion. I am north of Hannibal MO, no T/A. I may take the tires and wheels and put them on the 504U.(then someone will offer 3,000.00 for it) Thanks guys.

I broke the crank on mine, it was in mice shape otherwise, I got 2K for it. It did have a loader om it. No power steering, do the loader wasn't that usefull.
