Super h serial number

I have a 1953 super h that has the wrong serial tag on it. I have posted on this subject before and got to doing other things and anyhow. My question is are there any other places on the tractor to get an exact serial number other than the original tag witch has been gone for 30 years? The engine serial number is 12841 and a casting date of 5-18-y and 358067r1. It has 2-25 -y beside the gear shifter and 358038r1 and 6855-d on the left rear axel. I know the y means 1953 but the 358xxxr1 numbers I am unfamilier with. Thanks in advance for any info.

Well you better come back and make use of the information this time, or some of us might have to hunt you down... LOL

The short answer is NO, there is no other place on the tractor that would have the tractor's exact serial number.

There's a guy with a Super H registry that might be able to get you within 1-2 based on your engine serial. Hopefully he will see this.

Ha ha. I'm to old to run for cover. I emailed Pat again last night and he's on the case. The short answer is all I need. Thanks a bunch!

Nope. There is no other way to get the exact serial. You can use engine casting codes to get month and year of manufacture but thats about it.

I made a call to the used equiptment dealer this morning and gave them info. They are a long time family owned buisness so there may be a glimmer of hope that there may be a record of the sale. The big problem is that through time those things disappear. If we knew the original owner I know the dealership that it was probably sold new at and they do have records that far back.
