Correct rear rim mounting points, Farmall B

While not a big deal, I was curious if any current rims can be had with original style "squared" rim mounting points.

All the ones I've seen are "rounded".

I'm not going to fuss about it too much, but I do think the older style fits the rest of it style-wise, a little better.

Original ones are not made any more you need to find good used. Same for rims for the Cub. Brims also fit A,SA and so forth different widths were available. Do you need some

Clarification, Cub rims have the same problem but are not the same rim. The offset of the lugs is different and the bolt circle is also a bit different.

Yeah. I'll need two in the spring. I'll have to see if I can find some here in southern Indiana. Rims take a beating here.

Though as this b will still see regular use, might be best to just use the modern manufacture.

You can remove the old square lugs from an old rim and move them over to a new rim. The old lugs were held on by rivets. These can be removed with a torch or determined effort with a cold chisel and large hammer. I welded mine to the new rim using cast iron rods (Nickel/Cadmium) and a carbon arc welder. I bolted the lugs to the cast center prior to welding to get proper alignment. The blank rim I was able to buy was (as best as I could tell) exactly like the rim I was replacing and by moving the lugs over I was able to maintain the tire width spacing the same for the new rim and the old rim I was able to salvage from the other side. I only needed to replace one of two. DO NOT USE A TORCH OR WELDER ON ANY MOUNTED TIRE RIM OR LUGS IF YOU WISH TO GROW OLD GRACEFULLY. A torch or welder and a mounted rubber tire are a fatal combination (it does not even have to be inflated and may in fact have holes but it can still be explosive.)

Thanks! You know, as I'm also now going to buy the old Coop, I was looking at the rim situation with it. After some consideration, I thought about just redrilling and re-riveting. I actually found some general recommendations about re-riveting. That will probably be what I will do. Sometimes it's the most straightforward answer that I don't see so well.
