I know this is a very old thread but did you ever come up with a solution? I am having the same problem. Thanks.

THe primary issue with lean condition when fully warmed up is a lwaky intake manifold or gasket at the head or carb attachment. Ae the heat is absorbed by the manifold it changes shape and creates either a leak at one of the gaskets, or opens up a crack (sometimes internal!!to the exhaust side)and sucks in raw air, bypassing the carb. This is a primary symptom of a bad coil. Suggest swapping in a known good one and see what happens.

Check the flow of gas from your tank to the carburetor to see if there's a full stream of gas
to the carburetor. Hold a clean container to catch the gas. It may be running too lean. The carburetor may need a good soaking in carb cleaner and the jets blown out. Hal
