1466 aux hyd valve under seat???

My 1466 that I have owned for about eight years, has dual aux hyd outlets. I have only used one side because the other one is locked up in one direction. You can pull back on the lever and it will push the valve in and put pressure to the back but pushing the leaver forward it will not pull the valve out. Can I take the linkage off the front of the plunger and unscrew it out the back? would something be broke in the back cap on the backend of the plunger?
 
Yes, you can take the spool out from rear. The pipe that the large hex cap screws into must come loose though and come along with spool. Kind of hard to explain how to repair it from here though. Lots of guys would bring the spool into the shop and I would repair them and give instructions on how to put back in as you can mess it up doing that also.
 
If it is the outside lever your problem is most likely the roll pin in the lever that pulls the valve spool.Pull front the cover off below the seat. Watch the linkage when you move the lever forword you will see what I mean. There is also a stop bolt to limit forward movement of the lever. Make sure it has not been turned in to far.
 
Should be readily obvious to see if external linkage is the problem. If you suspect it is you can just hook end of valve and pull it forward to check to see if spool will move forward ok.
 
Thanks pete 23. It's not the linkage. I screw the spool out the back today and still have it out. I can push it into the threaded pipe end but will not pull out. I have taken spools out before to replace O ring but have no ideal how to fix this problem. If you get back to this post and can give me some direction on what to do it will be appreciated. Larry
 
I assume you have the pipe screwed out of valve which you must. But, I just cannot walk you through the procedure I use but will try. I clamp the nut in a vise, put a pipe wrench on the pipe to loosen it. Then put other end of spool in vise. Unscrew large nut. Take the screwdriver slotted adjustment screw out, take spring out, pull inner sleeve out, catching all balls that fall out. Pull pipe off, put adjustment screw back in full thread, put a vise grip on end where screw is . It won't hurt it as screw supports it from collapsing and not a surface you need to worry about. screw out the actuator. Inspect all parts for grooves and wear. Note position of centering spring washers and cup. And from here, you could have two different styles of detent mechanism. Early models had piston with o-ring on it . Later ones had o-ring , backup washer and small retainer pressed in end of detent. Anyway, you need to replace O-rings. Then you assemble actuator to spool with centering spring and cup in place. To reassemble balls I pack balls in place with grease, slip pipe on, then ball and seat. Insert grooved detent sleeve. Install spring and screw. You have to make sure it stays in the centered position. Put the big nut on, hold it in vise and tighten pipe securely. This assured you it will come out of valve next time you take it apart. When you install the spool in valve, you need to put spool into valve , then reach around front and pull through so you don't mess up the detent, tighten large nut but not much. Hey, I know I have missed a few opertions here. Come on over, I will show you how. By the way, after you have spool separated from all mechanism, take out front o-ring and see if spool will slide through the valve easily. Must be someone around your area experienced in them as it is a common repair. Good luck.
