Cub Voltage Regulator

Check voltage on the batt terminal with engine off then check again with engine running. Should read more with engine running a hi-throttle.

If 12v, charging volts should be 14 to 14.6v at 3/4 throttle. If 6v, 7 to 7.4 is good. Use an analog (needle type) meter, or an expensive averaging digital, to make the reading across the bat terminals. Jim

Orrrrrrrrr in the alternative, I can tell ya how to tell if its NOT working but the genny itself is okay:::::::

If its NOT charging while running, but does begin to charge ONLY if you dead ground the Gennys FLD post, The VR is bad orrrrrrrrrr not well grounded (check that) orrrrrrrr the wires bad from FLD on VR to gennys FLD post.
