400 will, 460 will not, it is too narrow for the mounting on the rear end and it has a different length to it.Not much but it is there.400, 450 and 560 go together with a wider rear end. I have one from a later 400 or 450 that is setting on my shed floor right now, I had it mounted but there was a piece I needed to fix so I ended taking it back off and have not gotten back to it.Not sure about the early fast hitches from the 400.

If I recall right, there is a difference somewhere in the different models of the 400/450/560 with the transmission cover... not all will interchange. And I don't believe the 300/350/460 series Fast Hitch will work on the bigger tractors.

460 - No. It is a small-frame tractor, same as a 300 or 350.

400 - Yes. I have seen one mounted on a 560 at a tractor show. I didn't know about the platform mounting problem so I didn't pay attention to how they addressed that.

The fast hitch will not interchange easily from 400 because of the lift cyl arm is mounted to the top deck or trans main cover, the brackets will fit the sides of the rear frame, hyd linkage wont work on 560, 460 wont fit 400/450/560 at all, slightly smaller main frame, later 450 would fit & be usable for most part except hyd linkage.

Not all400 have the style you are talking about. My Dad's didn't And a couple I have bought over the years didn't, but the neighbors did.I think the early ones did but the later ones into the 450 did not. They had a different leveling crank from the 560 so you could tell the difference. My dad bought his new so I don't think it was added later.

You are partly correct, but basically there is a early 450 and all 400 by serial/style there was 3 distinct type of 2 point fast hitch. They could be added because in those days IH made most of these as Field Attachments, Parts Catalog calls out these parts in that section. they made a 2-1/2 cyl with out traction control, also 3-1/2 without, then same with traction control. It gets interesting but I spent 10 years in set-up at a IH dealer from 1960/70 & then in parts for 37 more. There was small details such as knobs & levers that changed.

A 560 that didn't originally have fast hitch won't have the fancy position control HydraTouch valve on it. It will either have 2 or 3 regular valves like a 400 or 450.

You don't need the hydraulic linkage. Just hook up the fast hitch like a regular old hydraulic cylinder.

My first answer was thinking the drawbar metal "U" shaped component it will fit all "big" hitches. The 450, and some late 400 will fit a 560. Jim
