706 'miss'

Last spring the '7'(310german turbo) blew out the exaust manifold gasket while working ground(I was pulling the 'pi$$' out of it)...Now it is developing a slight miss at idle.Do I have a burnt valve? It's only got 11,000 hrs. Steve

Hows the blow by out the breather?? If ya got a weak valve you should be able to hear it either in the exhaust or intake . A compression test would be a good thing but most do not have the stuff to do a diesel. and NO i am not making a service call. Might be and injector problem might be a pump problem .

Very little to no blow by.The pump was replaced less than 5 years ago.It dynos at 96 horse.

Listen up front at the air intake.

If you hear a "thump" type noise, adjust the valves.
