F-20 assembly question

I am putting the timing cover and governor assembly back on a rebuilt motor and I was wondering of there was anything that could change or not be the same when I put it back on. I never messed with it when it was off. But if I switch governor assemblies between two F-20's will anything change then?
The magneto will need to be retimed ( I'm clueless on doing that with an E4A)
Thanks for any input!

Changing governors does nothing but put the mag out of time. Unless you pulled the camshaft or crankshaft, you don;t need to worry.

Timing E4As are just as easy as F4s. You want to remove #1 spark plug, and make sure you can see the marks on the flywheel. I like to set mine so that just after top dead center the mag trips (impulse coupling trips). That way you don;t get bit. Of course, you want it set this way with the mag lever in the half way position.

How you time the coupling in that there are two 1/4" bolts opposite from each other. Take them out. Pull the distributor cap. Rotate the mag until rotor in mag is on #1. Then rotate the engine until #1 is at top dead center. Match up one bolt on the coupler and screw it in hand tight. Rotate the engine and see where it trips. If it trips early, advance to the next hole. If it trips late, roll the coupler back a hole. After a while you get good at this. Like riding a bike.

I did have the cam out. I made sure the timing marks were aligned when I put it in. The only thing I was worried about was that when the timing marks were aligned the #1 piston was at TDC right before the intake stroke. I though it was supposed to be the power stroke.
Is it easy to work on E4A's and swap out parts between them, because I have many parts mags and I don't know if any of them work.

The problem with the E4A is the coil is the armature. They cost alot! Coil in F4 is about $42.00 about 1/3 the price of E4A. Most guy switch over. Hope you have a good E4A coil.
