What size loader does it take to fit on a 340 . And what hydrologic work has to be done, also what all sizes of tractors will interchange with that size loader

All I can tell you is that a 6 foot bucket will be plenty on a 340I would suspect that a 395 Allied loader would be about right. the 340 should have enoughhydraulic valves and so forth on it no way to answer the other questions. seed dealer he can. A Freeman 3000 also comes to mind.

IH Loader manual lists the 2000 and 2001 loaders will fit the 340.

I installed an IH 1701 on my 340U . . . I had to fabricate a few adapter plates. The IH loaders originally came with proper plates for specific IH model tractors, but unless you find an exact replacement from the same tractor, you'll have to fabricate your own.

The 340 had 3 options on hydraulic pump capacity, a 9 gpm camshaft drive, and 12 and 17 gpm trans drive. That sets the speed of your hydraulics.

Some, but not all 340's came with 1,2 or 3 external hydraulic valves: you need two to run a loader. Otherwise you need to add them.

The major problem with old equipment is that you can't just name a brand/model of something and have it magically appear for sale, in acceptable condition, at a reasonable price, within driving distance. It could take months/years to find something specific.

If you need this loader right now, you need to go see a Westendorf dealer and place your order.

I have a 40 inch material/manure bucket on my 340 row crop and that's all that tractor wants when I'm moving a bucket of dirt. I swap over to a 7 foot bucket for snow in the winter. no idea what brand loader I got - no tags/no name. pulled it off a junked 300 and had to fabricate a couple mounts. measure width and measure length. you may find something to fit.
