guy down the road has some Farmalls 2 560 diesels, and a 460 gasser,460 does not run, been sitting for couple years,widefront,560s have also been sitting for sometime, one has hood and side tins off, looks like it has a rebuilt head on it, all 3 tractors have nice strait tin, fast hitches, with swinging drawbars, tires are ok but mismatched, all also have fenders. What should I pay for these? thanks
 
Scrap iron price.Estimate the wt,add a couple hundred to that and offer.Who knows how much of a mess they are...
 
I highly doubt you'll get them bought at scrap price. Be prepared if the gentlemen wants $800-$1000. I seen it before you lowball the tractors, they will end up at the scrap yard. My friend tried to buy a Super H that was sitting for years, he offered current prices what the junk yard was paying. Guy wanted $750, and was firm on the price. Guess what, he ------ off the guy and a few days later the tractor ended up in the scrap pile. There are guys on here that won't pay anything for non running tractors, do what you think is right and fair.
 
i always think its funny when someone asks what to pay for a tractor. without a picture nobody has seen them except you. the buyer has the money and wants the tractor so pay what you think is fair to both. there is no set price on anything for sale , even on auction sales who can predict the price, sky is the limit. you just have to put a figure in your head and go with what you think. in this case i would think 3000.00 is a starting figure for 3 tractors. i dont think you would get your hands slapped at 4000.00 either.
 
Don't know about these but I have found that when a tractor has been sitting for a few years there are usually several problems in addition to the reason for parking it in the first place. I've bought a few that way and sometimes you win sometimes you lose. I now don't pay much over junk price unless I think I can sell enough parts to get my money back.IMO
