I had posted a few days ago about the antifreeze in the oil of my Farmall A. The suggestion was to put Bars Leak in to see if that solved the problem. I went to the auto parts store and they had various kinds. Which one do I pick? One said not to mix with antifreeze and many said to make sure the radiator was cool. Help!!!

When the tractor is cool, pour it in, then run it to temp.
Use the brown goopy stuff for radiator leaks. Jim

I have tried all 3 types of bars leak that I found. The one with the black pellets in it the copper stuff and the aluminum and for my $$ I have found the copper stuff works best

I have had success with the large pellets that Bars Leak makes. They come in a carded package of 6 "pills" that you crush up and put in when cool, then run up to temp. Napa will have them. Other types work too, but those pellets, or horse pills as I call them, seem to work for a longer time.

I had a small crack in 6 cyl. Chev block and at the time couldn't find a used one. Mechanic at shop poured in about a half can of JB stop leak (Justin Bros) and told me to take it out get the motor as warm as I could. Traded it off four years later and still hadn't leaked.

I like to use regular kitchen black pepper. It works well and won"t hardened up somewhere. It just seems to find the leak and stop it up. It has worked in a few of my tractors and the wifes car that had a coolant leak and I didn"t want to change the intake manifold gaskets.

I would start with a couple tablespoons and increase it if that doesn"t help. It doesn"t take much. It works fast. And, you don"t have to drain the coolant and run water with the product to carry it around.

I got a whole big container of ground black pepper that I bought for making spice rubs... The stuff doesn't smell or taste like pepper at all!

It's going out in the shop, marked as "STOP LEAK."
