I'm changing the hydraulic filters on my 544 hydro, following the owners manual. At the end it says to refer to "freeing the hydraulic system of trapped air", but doesn't tell where to find that. I've gone through the whole book and can't find it. How do I bleed off the trapped air?

Two usual methods are to use the power steering by turning it to the stops left and right till it acts correctly. then use the three point up and down to its limits maybe 10 times. If you use A Loader, operate it through its range. (be careful to assure that it cannot drop on anything if an air bubble is in a cylinder, usually they are just spongy). Use the remotes if equipped to assure complete purging of the air. If it is not catching prime, Put about 15PSi into the reservoir (no more than that) and operate the controls as above. Jim
