I have to be honest and tell you that I am an Allis guy. That out of the way, my Dad has a lowboy and he said the hydraulic cylinder to raise his belly mower is real choppy(not smooth) when he lifts his mower. Where do you check the fluid level and if anyone has any other ideas I would sure appreciate them. Thanks Mike and his Pops!

on the hydrulic unit on the left hand side there is a filler plug just stick your finger in and see if you can feel anything if not add some will need a funnel with a hose when there low should take no more than a quart

Is this an older offset LoBoy or a newer Numbered Series LoBoy (154, 185, or 184)?

Older offset, then like the fellas said above. Newer Numbered Series, then the fill plug is on the rear cap of the transmission. On either style, if the fluid runs low soon after filling it up, check the engine oil for it being overfilled. The pumps will leak fluid into the crankcase.

Then the hydraulic reservoir is under the gas tank, with the fill port on the left towards the rear. Fill until it runs out.

I was at my Dad's today and found the fill. Yup it sure does need fluid. Thanks all for the help. If that doesn't so it I will be back.
