don't really know, but I do know an old friend of mine loved his old IH trucks, but finally gave up on them.

Said it was just getting too hard to find parts. Don't remember specifics of what he couldn't find.

So - might want to look carefully to see what they may need, and shop around for replacement parts before actually buying one of the trucks.

(could also be that my friend was just getting lazy)

Recently restored a 65 IH 1200 4x4 345 V-8 with 5 speed manual 5th is overdrive. Most parts came from NAPA. Body parts ebay

Six-cylinder engines from the '60's were discontinued in the Light Line after 1968...so there are some parts availability issues, especially with pistons. V-8 engines were continued in Medium Duty trucks through '83 [except the 266], so parts for them are easier to find.

I have a 1 1/2 ton DS30 from 1940. Haven't had to do any major work on it yet (engine/tranny etc) but common components (points, condenser, regulator, belts, oil filter, plugs, wheel cylinders etc.) I have all gotten from my local Oreilly and never had to wait longer than the weekly shipment, many are on the shelf out here.
Did have some problems with the wheel cylinders, took us a few days of research to find the part number but when we found it there were a pile of them in the warehouse.
You just need a store where the guy knows older equip. and can still use a book. The young guys on the computer can't find much.
