Would anyone know the approx value of a 1952 farmall super c that hasn't run in maybe 20 years? The owner was not able to get it started so the condition is unknown.

Depending on the condition of the tin and if it has been stored in a shed or barn, scrap price at the most. Getting it to run will not be a big deal but could cost you several hundred. It needs fuel, spark and compression with proper timing and it will run. Since it has not run in 20 years, it will need a carburetor cleaning, points, condenser, rotary button, rotary cap, plug wires, plugs, and possibly a bit of repair to the distributor itself. It the coil was fine when it was parked it should still be good. If the carburetor was a Carter you may not get it to work and may have to buy a new unit.

I paid about 800 at an auction last year for a non-running SC with like-new rear tires and a 2 bottom mounted plow but no fast hitch and missing the carburetor. The engine was loose and it was not too hard to get running. Tractor had been in a barn for many years.

I once bought a SC that had sat for over 50 years... True story. It had maybe only 100 hours on it. The tires still had the vents on them. It sat outside for the last 10 years, but the early part was stored indoors. It had one of those carbon throwout bearings, and that was seized up. The fuel tank was all gummed up, and that Carter UT carb was junk. I replaced it with a new Zenith. You could be opening up a whole new can of worms. My investment worked out ok. It had a wfe. Everything was excellent shape. Still had the original battery cover. I bought a Saginaw 3pt for it. Since the tractor you are looking at sat so long, if the tires are decent, I may go as high as $1200, depending also on the shape of the sheetmetal. If anyone would like pics of mine..my email is open.

Ask the owner what he wants. If it sounds a little high offer him less. I bought a Super C in 1978 for $700.00. The engine ran and it had new tires and one of the front tire's was flat. They kept using it and it ruin the tube. Had to wash out all the small gravel. It also needed a new u-joint on the steering. I bought that at our local IH dealer. It had the fast-hitch and I plowed my garden. I sold it for $1800.00 and I had a lot of calls on it. Hal

Hi Dave, yes I would like to see a picture of your Super C . I have a /53 super C that I am restoring. cheers, Murray

I pd $500 for one with FH. It was in a fallen down barn. It took us about 2 hours to remove enough junk to drag it out. The seller/Grandson remembered when his Grandfather passed 23 years earlier. The tractor was never moved after that. Engine was seized up but I got it loose and running with about $200 in fluids and parts. The rear tires I put on cost more than I pd for the tractor.

I wouldn't give much more than scrap or salvage value.
