ok i have a silly question i have a 1950 super a which i am currently replacing a popped head gasket i am thinking of doing the rings & bearings on it as well . the question i have is how do i found out if its a 113 ci or 123 ci engine is their a serial # break or something else. any info would help.

All Super A tractors were initially 113 cubic inch engines. However, cannot get 3 inch bore sleeves anymore. Take head off and measure bore, 3 inches or 3 1/8 inches. The Super A1 gor the bigger engine.

If the block number is 354898R-- it is exactly the same block used in the Super A1/Super C. It can have sleeves in it that give 113, 123, or 134 cu inches, that is 3, 3.125, or 3.25 inside sleeve diameter. Earlier models have sleeves for 3 or 3.125 inches.

Just measure the bore with any old tractor you dont know what has been changd. Does the block part# seem OK what does the cast code read.
