truck 466; what rractor will it physically fit

Have several DT466 engines,what tractor will it replace the original in? What series tractors to avoid? I need cheap power

we have a 1466 IH it has a 436, id think they would interchange pretty easy. ive seen them in a 766-1466.

They also ran the 466DT in the 4366 and 4386 4 wheel drives... We had a 4386 for a few years and I loved that tractor! If your looking for big cheap horsepower, that will definately fit the bill! We bought ours from a dealer for 10k with almost new rubber and 5600 hrs. One this though is I would compare ALL the specs from the truck motor to the tractor motor before I did any swapping. Not so sure about IH motors, but I know for a fact that is a great way to burn up an 855 cummins... The cam and timing are very different in the 855 truck engines and not set up for a hard steady pull... Don't ask me how I know this... good luck!

It will fit any 66 86 series tractors.With the right parts guys are putting them in 560,706 right on up.I have a 706 in the works now.

I just put one in a 1086. If the engines you have are truck engines the only thing that will interchange is the long block. You will have to change front and rear covers, balancer, manifold, inj.pump ect.

It was used in the 35/3788, 65/6788, maybe the 52/5488's, and the 72/7488.

If you get something with a bad 360/414/436 in it you should have everything you need. That'd be the 66 series and most 86's.
