Super C Sleeve needed

Wonder if anyone has a good used 3 3/16 ID cast iron sleeve for block 354898 for sale. This is from a 1949 Super C as I understand.

Piston Sleeves:
All are 6.875 or 6 7 /8 long from bottom of top lip (Gene: Check again 6.78????)
All are 3.435 OD at bottom O ring seal area
All are approx 3.57 OD at top below lip

Thanks.

I have a new old stock sleeve and piston set. This is one sleeve only with the piston and rings included. The piston is aluminum and has the IH part number 962867R1 stamped on it. I can"t find a part number on the sleeve. The ODs that you list seem to match the sleeve I have. HOwever, this is a 3 1/8 bore sleeve and It is 7 inches long from the top to bottom and the top lip is 1/4 inch, so from the top lip to the bottom it is 6 3/4 inches, not 6 7/8. I tried to sell this on E bay a while back and got no bids. I"ll sell it reasonable. If you are interested, send me an E mail. It will go in a flat rate USPS box, so that"s how I would ship. Probably around $16 for the shipping.

Super C's did not appear until 1951. But 354898 was on Super C's and later models of Super A's. If it is a factory sleeve the diameter is either 3 or 3 and 1/8., the only difference is the thickness of the sleeve, not the bore unless someone has messed with it. The aftermarket kits have 3 1/4 sleeves which are thinner, not many 3 1/8 around, so get it from Haas.

Thanks Charlie in MO and Haas. I'm still thinking.

It appears that this engine has Zollner pistons. The sleeve bore is 3.1875. Pistons are stamped with Z and 4079 as well as with IH Part Number 374294 R1 CAM-Z16.

I have nothing but time on my hands and was wanting to get this old engine running pretty much "as is" then decide where to go from there.

However, I busted one of the sleeves in removing a piston. Don't remember how, but I did.

Still thinking.

I hear ya, Mr. Bender. Seems that few persons are aware of it. But, it is 3 3/16.

Another person on another thread "Trying to save a Super C" on the Farmall cub forum back in February was wrestling with ring issues for the 3 3/16. I'm wrestling with needing a replacement sleeve, then on to the ring issue.

You could always bore a 3.125 sleeve to 3.187 but finding rings should be not too hard the width of them mite be though. Who made those 3.187 kits?

Someone has stated that Zollner made these for IH.

The pistons are marked IH 4079 with a Z on one side. IH part number 374294 R1 followed by a C also stamped into pistons.

Anyway, I've given up - for a number of reasons. If I rebuild this engine I'll go to 3.25 and be done with it.
