I've done a bit of research and found that the serial numbers for AV's was in the same ranges as the A's. I've also read that there was 36xx total made. Anybody know the numbers by year?

I've also seen them referred to as Hi clearance. In the pics of the hi clearance the front wheels appeared to by the standard 5 x 15 and not the 4 x 19s of the AV. Other than that what is the difference between the two?

The 15in rims are not original lots of tractor over the yrs have been "altered" in one way or another. I read the data from tractor house and it is not correct in some areas its hard to find original stuff sometimes even replacement parts are sometimes not correct. Many tractor books do have a lot of untrue stuff in them writers dont know what was correct when new and have some silly pics of a "RESTORED" model with many flaws. Some on this site have showed pics of their "trophy" show tractors that were far from original like a 47B Farmall with red and white seat.

Hi-clear or high clearance is just a nickname. There was only one "high clearance" A model, and that is the AV. V standing for vegetable, of course.

If the tractor has 15" fronts on it, that means the 19" rims and/or tires were damaged beyond repair, and were too expensive to replace.
