656-666 sheet metal

Is the 656 sheet metal and 666 the same ? I know that the front grill is different.

just to get you started, the 666 hood is longer by about 3 1/2 inches I think. Right side sheet for the radiator is different, 666 has a dimple to clear the lower radiator hose. Radiator is different, 656 lower hose is on LH side, 666 is on RH side and bigger. Frame rails are different also.

I have one of each sitting in the barn. Thought about putting a D312 in the '56 but it looked like too much to change.

F.Red, IMO a 656 has more in common with a 706 than a 66 series tractor I just aquired a 1964, 706 w/ a D-282. when setting side by side,, My 1966 656 LP has more in common with it than one might think!front end, casting holes grill, Op Deck, Seat assembly, Hydrologlic levers to start with. Hope this helps.
