606 spark plugs

Recently got a 1966 International 606 gas. Have a stupid question. I can not figure out how to change plugs. The hole with plugs are exceptionally narrow. Even my thinned walled sockets have no chance. Am i missing something? Thanks for any help.

I always use a 3/8 drive deep well and haven't found a head that does not fit. My 1/2 in dr does not however.

I believe a 12 point thin wall will work. I have ground the edges down on spark plug sockets before also. If my memory is right my dad had a socket from IH that resembled a chain saw socket. It was more or less round tin with flats for the plug and two holes in it to use a shaft to turn it.Been a long time since I have seen that one. I think I used a 12 point on my 560 which basically has the same casting for the head.

Thank-you for responses. I got them out. When to wal-mart and got a cheap thin socket. My snap-on wouldn"t work. Who knew??

Any one know where I can get a owners manual? I got a shop manual.. But would like one more geared like a owner"s manual. For example... I have a rod on tractor.. Idk even what it does? Lol...

Thanks.

My Snap-On spark plug socket works a some but not all of those head. I have a Craftsman socket that I normally use. Both are 1/2" drive.
