What do you think its worth? The person hasn"t returned my call yet. http://omaha.craigslist.org/grd/3724250361.html

Thanks

When you ask what something is worth here, people tend to give out low numbers.

My guess is that the seller here thinks it's worth at least 2X what you've been told. Possibly 3X. No price listed is a bad sign that that is the case.

If you were to offer even $1400 for the package, you'd be lucky if he was polite to you in rejecting the offer.

IMHO let him keep his golden shoebox.

He finally called back. He said $2900 but price is negotiable.
I'm on my way to look. I noticed the grill and dog legs are missing. Do you think $2000-$2200 is to high?

Thanks

I recently purchased a 62 lowboy with a front loader, fast hitch rear blade, rake, and carry-all, not running for $1,300.00. I spent about $200.00 getting it running and usable. Very handy little tractor.

Well, here in western Pa, it is worth the following:

1.) Snow blade complete - $300 +
2.) Belly Mower complete - $600 +
3.) Decent Running Cub - $1500 +/-

total: $2400

without seeing and hearing it, that is tops.

A good working and solid, complete belly mower will bring around $600 in your area? I've got 5 or 6 I need to bring up there then.........Don't need em and I practically can't "give" them away down south.

Yeah, about what I figured.

Unless he's desperate for cash, or just plain falls head over heels in love with you, he's not likely to come down to $1400. In this day and age his idea of a "best offer" that he'd consider taking is $2850.

You never know though, you might be lucky.

If the tractor truly has a 3pt hitch on it, which is possible, but not likely from the looks of the picture, a fair price could be in the $2300-$2500 range. Selling off the blade, mower, and 3pt would leave you with about a $1500 tractor, which is about going price for a tractor with no major problems.

Last fall I picked up a bare Cub for $1000, but it had some pretty nasty leaks, rear main, transmission seals... It's a good $1500 tractor now, but I'd lose $$$ on the deal on what I put in.

Well I bought it. I ended up giving $1900. Its probably a little high but I wanted it. It starts a little hard. But it runs great. The three point is homemade. The belly mower is in great shape (no rust). I need to find a hood for it. I'm happy with the purchase though. I have an acreage and wanted something to mow it with. I got it home last night and mowed a little, it pulled down pretty good but the grass was really wet. Then I noticed the blades were spinning backwards. So I switched the belt around and it worked nice.
