WD9 reason for water in oil

I posted a few days ago about a WD9 having water in the oil. Well I found the reason. The water jacket was so rusted that a portion of the sleeve bore had developed pinholes, allowing water to seep in between the sleeve and the sleeve bore and drip into the crankcase. I am quite surprised too. I thought the sleeve would have fit tight enough to the bore that water wouldn't be able to slip by.

Oh well, I have another block.

I have used locktite to seal sleeves in when
sleeve bore has a hole in it (throne rod) and has worked real good. clean it up and see if its an option, stumper

I lubricated a H sleeve when I installed it with 600 degree red silicone. I expected a similar problem. Greased the bore and sleeve well and it slid in like it was greased. Next day trimmed the squeeze with a knife. It has worked well.
