Had the carb on my my 51 M re-built over the winter. It ran the tractor well before, but had minor leaking.

Now the tractor seems to be getting too much gas (using noticeably more) and burning black smoke. I have adjusted the load adjustment screw with no difference made.

During the re-build, everything was re set to factory specs, the needle valve and seat were replaced, float was straightened and adjusted, and the load screw packing gland was replaced.

Thoughts?

A sinking float will do that. to a lesser degree so will a leaking needle and seat. If it ran good and has gotten bad, go their first. Jim
