Would help if we knew what size tractor or capacity/gallons you are working with, usually if you drain out all or nearly all oil (& water, that's whats making it milky), then run it a year, (by the way IH wanted it changed every year anyway), that will usually suffice.

HI,its a 350 or 300 utility,i have both. Took all apart last fall, including the tank under seat, lines all. Has one cylinder. Flushed ALL in parts wash tank, including cylinder. Pump NOT removed or cleaned. About 4 gallon capacity in system. New fluid put in. Also, did big switch around with 6 valves I have on hand and found on that seems to works; which means it will hold fast hitch plow in up position for ever.
Also, the pipes from tanks to pump breaks.I(have 4 of these machines and they are ALL broken here where steel pipes mount to tank. I can fix that.
BUT why does system groan and squirt fluid out that hole? and why is the fluid shot after a few icy months?
thanks all in advance

Hello
Trying to get my dads old 460 (utility) back into something he would have liked. I have the majority of leaks taken care of except for the hole in the steering column plug. Did you ever find out what that was about? Have concearns it may be a seal lower down in the column migrating up and out of the plug with the hloe in it.

Thx

This version of tractors both Farmall (row crop) or International (utility/industrial) had a separate smaller reservoir for the hydraulics, water from condensation gets into the fluid & contaminates oil quickly, it turns milky on purpose by IH to tell its overloaded with water. This system was replaced on 340/460/560 with entire rear frame & transmission case was Hytran system reservoir. 10 to 15 gallons verses 5 on yours just works better against contamination. I would flush it again with Hytran & watch color.
