Tel-a-depth feedback linkage

Went and looked at a 460 with Fast Hitch this morning.

This is the second one in a row I've found where the Tel-a-depth feedback rod that runs underneath the platform was broken right by the clutch pedal.

Apparently this is common? Any ideas how these get broke?

I am trying to remember the one that we had that broke. I think it was from running a back blade and catching a concrete edge while cleaning feed lots with snow and ice built up. We seldom moved it into a draft position, just left it all the way down. I"m tying to remember if Dad broke one on the 400 pulling the mounted mower with a conditioner behind it, It seems like he did but that was pre 1970.

This usually happens when someone connects linkage up wrong way so it hits a dead end and something has to give. Some times it breaks gears inside valve, sometimes link on outside. They also rust solid over time and then break when hitch is used.

The tele depth was introduced with the '60 series. It started with a cable and then went to the rod. Most of the cable types have been converted over the years to the rod.
