Farmall MD Engine Block

My MD engine swallowed a sleeve. I have the engine completely apart for rebuild and I noticed that the cylinder wall where the sleeve fractured has a burned spot and a couple inches away from it there is a spot that feels rough when you rub your finger over it. Is it anything to worry about or should I go ahead with the total rebuild (all new sleeves, pistons, bearings, etc)?

I would use a Sunnen style straight hone to assure it is cylindrical. Take very little off the inside, if it looks like even one thousandth is needed, it may be toast. If it is, the block can be bored to accept a repair sleeve then re bored to accept the original sleeve. Jim
