Super C Carb ID

Anybody able to tell which carb is on this Super C? I don"t see any identification on it other than 0-553 cast into the upper body flange right where it bolts to the manifold. Need to order a kit for it and would like to get the right one the first time! Thanks!

Have you removed it from the tractor??? If you have not that is why you can not find the info since the brass tag on most carbs sit on the back side of the carb when on the engine.

Nailed it! Carb is still on the tractor and the tractor is about 80 miles away. Would think they would put the brass tag on the outside so you can see it!

Thanks for the help guys!

They do that so the tag does not get knocked off when you use the machine. If it was towards to out side good chance it would be hit by stuff and be knocked off

Not sure it ever had a tag, or if it did it might be long gone by now. Some of those carbs had the numbers stamped directly into the top.

If it is a Carter UT I hope you have better luck with yours then I did with mine. After several rebuilds problem could never be resolved until I bought a NOS Zenith at a RPRU and haven"t had any carb issues since. You might want to consider a
Zenith as I think you will find that is the solution to your carb issues, Hal.

I did the same thing with the Carter on my Super C. Thru it in the trash and got a new Zenith. Have had zero problems since. JMO.
