starter for international fairway o14

i have an international fairway o14 1939.i would like to fit a starter,2 bolt, it was optional by the time, what is the make, the type, is it possible to find one.Can i fit one from another tractor make?thank you for yours answers

I have a F14 with a starter that I put together,Mine is a 3 bolt flange and I used a starter fron a letter series, and the 3 bolt casing and it works good.I drilled the 3 bolt holes one size bigger and lifted the starter up off the flywheel. It works perfect and looks orginial.Your flywheel ringgear should be the same.I hope this helps some

Even if you find a starter that will work. There are some specific parts that you need. The frame for an electric start is different as it has an enlarged cavity on the LH side to accommodate the starter.I'm thinking the bell housing is different too. And then you will need a flywheel with a ring gear. I'm thinking those are all of the major parts, I'd have to take another look at my I-12. I'm thinking you may need a parts tractor to accomplish this. If you need pics let me know.

Have you removed the cover to see if the third hole is under it. Maybe they only used two of them to hold the plate in place.

(quoted from post at 18:31:18 04/11/13) on my faiway o14 there is already a flywheel with a ring gear but where you fit the starter there is a plate sheet of metal fixed with 2 bolt not 3

Ok, I guess I assumed you were converting a crank start to electric. I'll look at mine tomorrow and see if there's a tag on the starter.
