70 plus degrees here Monday, now we are to this by Wednesday! Gotta love spring in nebraska. Good thing I have the SMTA around so I can feed the cattle.

been hard to crack 32 degrees in northern MN. My grass is still under a foot (or more!) of snow. Nebraska sounds better all the time :)

We need the temp to raise about 3 or 4 degrees, so this light rain we are getting will melt off the trees. It's been 29 to 30 all morning and the light raine comes and goes and freezes on anythong above ground. Nothing serious breaking so far, but it won't take much more and we'll be breaking branches. This is what got me my triple by-pass a few years ago, cleaning up from an ice storm.

Power is finally back on! Been out since about 1 am last nite.
Don't think I'll be planting corn by the 15th like originally
planned! Oh well it'll all get done it always does.

Be careful out there and I hope the temps warm up so this
crud can get outta here!!

How many days does it take you to plant your corn? Around here the only guys that start on 15 April are BO's with 5000 acres to plant.
The goal is to be DONE by the 1st of May.

I try to be done with corn by may 1. I also try to be done with soybeans by may 7, which is my sons birthday. I don know if I qualify as a "BO" ( big operation?) but I"m at around 2500 acres of corn and about 1000 of soybeans with about 200 acres of alfalfa to keep the cattle happy happy happy.

Spoke too soon.... one fair sized dead branch fell just after the Royals b'ball game started and took down the cable line. Haven't heard anything else fall close to the house. If that's the worst that happens, I'll be happy.
