Thanks for the explaination, helps us understand what your actually looking for rather then shooting in the dark.

I would slap a turbo on that 766 and do some pump work and maybe some bigger injectors. You should easily run with 966's and 856's. As far as horsepower your not gaining much between the two, unless them 966's and 856's your pulling against are turbo'd as well.

In our 10000lb stock class you are allowed to have 101

rated HP and your allowed to be 15% over. So a 966 is stock at 100 HP and the 414 can be turned up to 115. The 856's can be turned up to about 105. My 766 will only go up to about 92HP. This is the only reason i'm thinking about the 866. Turbos are not allowed on stock tractors unlessoriginally equiped. Later Kent

Where are you located? I may be interested in that 766 if you follow through with your plan.

I live in Prince Edward Island. A little island in the Atlantic ocean. I'm about 6 hours from Bangor Maine. It would be quite a haul for you from South Dakota It does scoot along the road pretty good tho. LOL Kent

Given your location your probably really limited on what tractors are actually available too! That would be a long haul for that 766. Thanks though. Now that we have the whole picture I would go for the 966, especially if your looking forward to working on it and making it as nice as your 766. Good luck.
