#39 two-way roll over plow

How common is this plow? I've seen some videos on YouTube of one that is restored, pretty neat plow. Might have a line to get my hands on one. Seems like a rare bird.

There used to be 'millions' of them. They were the
state of the art in two way plows in the
'40s/50s.Sadly the scrappers have gotten most of
them. I have one. These days I only use it on our
tractor club's plow days. It's fun for a few hrs once
or twice a year...I'm glad I dont have to pull that
rope for all my plowing.

Ive got a #37 and a #39. here in Iowa they are non-existant. I got both of mine out of Idaho where they are quite a bit more common

As Delta pointed out, lots of them have been cut up

Nice pictures DeltaRed. Like any of the old equipment, it would just be for show and it definately isn't just any plow pulled out of the fence row. How much do you think the thing weighs? Is it impossible to find shares, etc for it since it has two different directions for the moldboards?

I picked mine up at a used equipment yard in SE Colorado where I grew up. They are very common in this area due to the furrow irrigation; the yard I got mine at had several available for $150 each. Depending on where you are look they are either collector's items or scrap iron. Most folks here in Kansas have never seen one work and it really attracts spectators at our local show. If you find one and intend to use it keep in mind they tend to pull hard. This 2x14 version gives my 350 all it wants in our tough ground.

My Dad used to chain up two Ms together when plowing old alfalfa ground with one of those. :>)

Didn"t know a 350 could even pull one.
