IH 240U points

I am looking at buying an IH 240. I was told it needs points. It has the horizontal distributor. Are these points specific to an IH or will say Chevy or Ford 4cyl engine points work? I know a lot of motors/parts were used in multiple machines.

If Chevy or Ford points will work can somebody tell me which ones to buy? Thanks for any help you can provide.

all ihc distributer, points are the same.no auto's use them that i know of.the mags take the same points of their own. the delco vertical dist maybe able to get from gm, but have not checked on them.

Is it I-H or Prestolite should be I-H if its original.

IHC points are different from 4 & 6 cylinder engines.
