Wasn't gonna buy it, but...

I went to a sale last Saturday near Anamosa, IA. There was a Farmall C on the bill that looked decent. I was heading past within 6 miles on Friday, so I stopped in. Auctioneer took me right to the C, started it up, and had the owner come over to tell me all about it. On sale day it was cold, drizzly, and they decided not to start it. I didn't bid at first, but when things stalled out at $800 my hand shot up. Ended up paying $1,300 for it. Had to shove in the wheels to get it on the trailer, but all went well. After a little TLC on the 6 volt system, it was running perfect tonight.

Just thought I'd share...

FYI...The 3020 next to it sold for $12,600!!!

Looks good! Hope you get plenty of use out of it. Farmall C tractors didn't come to Australia, so the only ones we see are personal imports. I like the look of them.

Nice tractor for a nice price.

Not that I haven't done worse myself, but a little
overweight for that single axle trailer, no?

Trailer's got a 5000lb axle under it. Add in 15% more for the tongue and it'll safely gross 5750lbs.

Looks like he took the 3 sets of weights off, so that's 900lbs gone right there.

Bare weight listed at 2845lbs for a C. Bet the trailer didn't weigh 1500lbs empty.

I bet it was a load but well within the limits.

(quoted from post at 00:18:12 03/22/13) ChasK where you located in LaMotte? Where you took that photo sure looks familair?

Picture was taken at the sale, which was a few miles east of Amber. I live about 6 miles north of LaMotte.
