A good Friend of mine shed burnt down a few days ago and his Farmall C was in there. He says the tractor is scrap and will be hauling it away. I would like to save this tractor for parts for my Farmall A. How similar are the two tractors what could I use off it for parts. Tin, gears gas tank ect....

Thanks

engine part would be the same. If in a fire mabe internal parts would be ok. Depends how bad the fire was. oldiron29

If the fire warped the tin
If the fire burned off the tires
If the firs burned the gasoline in the tank
If the paint on the engine is burnt or bubbled
If the oil in the pan burnt out
The whole thing is prepared iron for the scrap yard.
If there is red paint on components, and the oil is still good in the engine (or the coolant is still in it) it may have value. Jim

The A & C share the same engine parts. Both have the C123 Engine. Front rims and tires are the same. Sheet metal, controls, transmission different.

Truth is that not much from the C moves over to the A. The torque tube, the transmission, the engine, as well as the tin and cultivator frame mounting are all different to a degree. The front wheels, possibly the carburetor, and the muffler may be the same. Both tractors used the C113 engine but the C was different with a hydraulic pump at the front of the distributor and a different oil filter tube. The gasoline tank was different for the C to accommodate the hydraulic package and the rock shaft.
