I checked tractor data And the 766 gas would have the 291 in it. I have been around IHC for a good many years and I have never seen a 766. Don't think many gas burners were sold.

Saw one sell at an auction here in NE Indiana a couple of years ago. Narrow front fast hitch, brought over $4000. I thought that was a lot considering the price of gas. Yes, I don't think they made a lot of them, by the time the '66 series came out diesel was dominant in that horsepower class.

Most of the 766's I have seen at auctions have been gas. I have a diesel with a narrow front, and it's original. It's a cool looking tractor.

When they introduced the 766 they were all gas, no diesels. It wasn't till a year after the 7 was introduced that they offered a diesel as an option

Lots of 766 gassers around here at one time. It's been popular to convert them to diesels with a 360 or 466 truck engine.
