Wheatland tractors 3 pt hitch?

Good morning everybody,

I would like to know if wheatland style tractors came with 3 pt hitches or not? I want to buy a "bigger" diesel tractor for tractor pulling and mowing the 15 acres of open field behind my house. I have my heart set on a wheatland 560D or a wheatland 806. Do these tractors have 3 pts hitches; I have only see them with drawbars.

I know I can get these tractors in the standard/normal version but I have always liked the wheatland look.

my wheatland 806 doesn't even have the rocker shaft. I've never seen a wheatland of any make that had a factory 3pt.

Here in my part of the UK I have 3 friends with wheatland 560 all been recent imports from Canada. None of theise tractors have got 3 point lifts on them. MJ

Factory 3pt was never an option on the 560. Doesn't matter if it's Farmall or Wheatland.

You can put the Farmall 3pt hitch parts on a Wheatland 806 if it does not come equipped with one. The basic tractors are identical.

Our 856 wheatland had nothing but hydraulics on the back. It wouldn't work to mow as it had no PTO. I'm not sure if that's how all wheatlands were, though.

That is where the other common (more modern) name came from...bare backs.

No, you are not going to find a wheatland with a factory 3 point. That is why they are wheatlands. Big fenders, no 3 point, rare to have a PTO, standard tread, etc

I have two IH560's, one that runs is 1959 with a frontend loader. Other is 1962, the fenders are even wider on it. Both tractors have rear 540 pto & pulley on the right side, T/A & hyd's. With the so called wheatland fenders/platform, there is no place to mount a 3pt hitch. Wish there was, but without cutting it all up, modifing the seat base, etc.

I HAVE A 756 WHEATLAND AND 1206 WHEATLAND WITH FACORY 3 PT.S ON THEM AND I HAVE SEEN OTHER ONES THAT WAY ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT REAL COMMON.

Three point linkage was certainly available in Australia for Farmall M and W6 tractors. It was pretty much standard on Super AM, AW-7 and A554 tractors. Saw a 560 Farmall with three point on it on the weekend; looked factory equipment to my eye. On early M and W6 tractors, you need to change the gearbox lid for Australian three point to fit.

Fair enough; wasn't trying to upset you - just a point of interest. I'm basically a Farmall M enthusiast, but I like having a look at other IH tractors when I see them. Funny how IH had different options in different places. All the options you got in the U.S. on mowers and hay rakes were basically unavailable here. If you bought a mower, like the GL-25-VO, which was really a 25-V made in Geelong you had the option of one type of guard and one type of knife section only. I was amazed when I saw a 25-V book and found all the different options that could be fitted to it. Same with Farmall tractors for gear arrangements. We didn't get the option of nine speed transmission, yet we did get the three point linkage with all cylinder inside the gearbox lid.
