Not sure about the price exactly. Here in central Iowa I would start at $2000.00 and go from there.

A couple interesting things about your tractor:
First, it has a fast hitch, not a 3 point hitch, alone worth about $500.00;

Second, if you look at the axel tubes they have the flange where drop extensions mount - it probably was a cotton picker at one time (maybe could have been a Super MV but I seriously doubt someone would put it back to standard row crop if it was. Cotton picker conversion is more likely).

Check and post the serial number. If it starts with "FBK" I'm wrong about the cottons picker part. If it starts "MCH" (or something like that) it was a cotton picker.

I agree with your remarks about it probably being a cotton picker tractor. Single front was common (possibly even standard) on cotton pickers. The size of the front wheel and its yoke is smaller than those of a picker, I'd think.
Is the peculiar air filter typical for a cotton picker too?

It is a nice straight old tractor. Here in Western, Pa. it would sell for about $1250 to $1500. Guys here are ignorant about LP so that will keep the price down. The collectors of by gone days are gone and the younger guys
have no ties to the soil. I would go $1250. Wheer are you by the way?

I was wondering the same thing earlier. I did some looking online today looking for pictures of M cotton pickers and couldn't find anything definitive.

Is it possible the air cleaner is a cartridge-type air filter instead of the common oil-bath cleaner?

I have 3 SM's on LP. Two are factory and one is a conversion. All have an "East/West" tank. This one is a conversion.

On Craigslist in this area it would bring around $1500. You might could get more if you hold out for someone that knows what the grill is worth.

What are the suffixes on the tag? I have a SMTA,LP cotton picker. Has the same axle housings.
The tag suffixes will tell if it came with those or if someone put some pieces together. I'm curious if this is a late or early SM. The one I have that's a conversion is a stage II but has the belly hydraulics.

Motor should be nice and clean inside having been on Lp.

Lp conversion M, not a super, sold for $1200 back in Feburary in Az at public Auction. It was with out three point, but ran and had new paint

Rear axes look like those of the former pickets I've seen before. Also notice the extra horizontal bracket on the clutch pedal: all the former pickets I've seen had something like that on the clutch and break pedals, as that was part of the system used to reverse the operator platform.

As said, look at the SN suffix, as if it was a picker it should be marked.
