Manifold leak? Maybe it's leaking around the carb/manifold flange?

Let it run for a while as well as all the other suggestions. You may have to drain the fuel bowl on the carb sevral times to get a good flow of fuel. A good cleaning will do the job, but it may just need a good flushing out. Be sure your fuel is fresh. Look for leaks in the intake manifold. A leak will make it run lean.

That could be a few things wrong. Poor spark will cause that. You need a blue/white spark that jumps a 1/4 inch gap or more. #2 you need a good steady flow of gas out the carb drain plug for a few minutes. #3 you need a clean air cleaner with the correct amount of oil in it. #4 you need enough compression to pull the fuel into the cylinders as it should. Any one of those not being as it should be will cause that problem
