I have to replace the head on my 706 gas. I was wondering if a straight valve head or one with angle valves is better and why?

find a replacement cyl head for the 706 for a working engine. youd have to oring the head, n have pistons on stand by to work one with the truck head. works ok for a puller.

I want to say the 706 and all later BD truck engines are slant valve and the early SD truck engines were straight valve engines. I think there is a good chance the BD truck engine head would fit a 706, but I would sure check the size of the combustion chamber and angle of valves. Will have smaller spark plugs in truck, 14 mm thread vs 18mm in tractor.
