Got the tractor split and old clutch out. I cannot get the throwout bearing out. I cant see anything that holds it in, seems it should just come off the shaft. How does the bearing come off? I'm about to just reuse the old one..

THe clutch actuating rod and yoke are pinned to the throwout carrier. The pins (if I recall correctly) need to be removed to allow removal of carrier and bearing. If you have an early 140 it may have a graphite bearing that can be replaced with a ball thrust throwout. PACKAGE, clutch release bearing service, will work for 350830R31, 100 series tractors w/serial no. 2954 & below, consists of (1) bearing 361292R91, (1) fitting 109461, (1) sleeve 6116D

Product No: 364790R91

Getting the cotter pins out so that the throw out bearing can be removed is tricky especially if there is a lot of rust or grease in there. We have taken a number of them apart where the time to remove them carefully is not worth what we can sell the parts for. That being said we have lot of good throw out bearings, clutch yokes ect in stock.
