I had a construction crew put up a post frame building this last week. I should have more space for storing my collection of tractors and equipment. The overhead doors are on order and should be installed in a couple of weeks. I think the IH emblems are a nice added touch, My version of barn art. I think it turned out really nice. I've had a couple of guys that were headed down the interstate hwy that had to stop in for a closer look.

SWEET!! I want one!! Did you make the IH logo out of colored tin? On one of the recent Successful Farming episodes, they were in Florida at a local IH museum. One of their buildings down there had a huge IH made out of colored tin on one end of the building.

VERY nice!!!

Might I ask a few questions about it...what size is that and what did it cost you? What part of the country are you in?

Im hoping to put up something in the 40x60ft range within the next year or two in Central IA.

Thanks!

Very sharp! You definitely have Farmallitis. Buy too many tractors, build a bigger barn which then gets filled with more IH equipment until you need to build yet another barn. There is no known cure.

A friend of mine, when he built his house he had the brick layers lay bricks of the IH logo on his front porch over hang.

East central Indiana farm neighbor had a 60x100 built in 2009. He ran the crane, the Amish built it in less than a week. I am pretty sure he said $15 a square foot. Next year he had half the floor concreted with thermal heat underneath. He has around $40,000 in it so far.

The shed is 54 x 70 with 16 foot sidewalls. I was only going to put in the center overhead door but decided that it would make it much easier to get the motor home in and out if it had it's own door. I'm located in Southern MN. 10 miles from Iowa, 100 miles from Wisc. and 200 from South Dakota. The building with all the winter discounts cost me about $12 per sq foot. Those little extras sure add up: eavelites, wainscott, overhangs on sides, overhead doors, electric openers, vented ridge, and IH emblem that was made out of color steel cut to fit. All add to the basic price of the building. charlie

Thanks for the reply. Im looking at a 40x60 with a center wall, half concrete and heated. Two overhead doors on the heated end and a set of sliders on the dirt floor side. Plus a nice concrete pad in front of the heated side too. Dont really have any idea but guessing its going to run 40-50k. Hope its not more than that or I may have to rethink things!

I will have to come back for a visit Charlie, looks great. You guys should see his shop, its just AWESOME. Well to a mechainc it is, lol.
