LP Manifold for M

I need a new manifold for my M that is a gas. I was told that if I put an LP manifold on it will increase my HP. What is the diffrence between the stock gas manifold and an LP manifold that makes the extra HP? How much Hp could be gained from this? Thanks for the help.

For a LP manifold with the intake and exhaust not joined above the intake inlet.
Depends what manifold is on now and how the engine is set up.
Take a standard engine with a gasoline manifold and then put a LP one on without any other changes. I doubt you could feel the difference.
If using the tractor in cold weather for work or short runs the LP manifold can be worse.
May be a different story if building and tunning the engine for max power like on a pulling track.

Like D Slater says an LP manifold should provide a slight increase in power. But you probably won't notice the increase unless you stick the tractor on a dyno.

The downside is the LP manifold will make your tractor "cold blooded". It will tend to run poorly (and burn more fuel) in cool, damp weather on account the LP manifold lacks the hot spot above the carburetor inlet.

Look for a Vinson replacement manifold for M-450. these are great manifolds to play with. Not separated,, seen 5hp gain on a tuned super m. can port em big, but usually a cleanup is all thats needed.
