Trying to get a 22-36 back to running after it has set for at least 30 years. The head is at the shop being rebuilt so while waiting for that to be finished I decided to replace the rings. There was very little ridge in the sleeves but reamed them anyway. That when I got the surprise. The big end of the rods are too large to pass through the sleeves. The rings are all at the top of the piston and will raise high enough to all clear the tops of the sleeves.
That is the first engine I ever had apart that the big ends of the rods are too large to pass through the cylinder bore, its a 4 and 3/4 bore. This hobby is full of surprises. Joe
