crank cam timing on h international

A service manual is very helpful when working on these old tractors. Mesh the single marked tooth on the crankshaft gear between the the two marked teeth on the cam gear. Then mesh the single marked tooth on the camshaft gear between the two marked teeth on the magneto gear. The governor and idler gears do not need to be timed to the engine. Hal

Hal, this is what i am finding for markings. I have three cogs marked on the crankshaft, two with single marks on cogs, one with (2) marks. the camgear has two cogs marked, and again on the cogs, these are like 180 degrees apart, so we put # 1 cylinder at tdc, and alighined cam so as lobes on #1 where at closed posistion, I noticed all this when i pulled it apart, except the third marking on the crankshaft, and the reference to the two marks in the spects. I do have two marks on the ideler gear that drives the governor. Thanks Erv
