| Auction pricing is bogus. People sit around all winter and then go nuts when they hit an auction. More often than not bidding turns into a contest and has nothing to do with value. LP's aren't all that difficult to deal with.
They are still laying around all over Texas ,Ok, NM, etc. and can be bought for $200 to $400 complete. I just got a 450LP, WF, PS for $600. |

| That"s the cheapest I"ve heard of one go for. Does it still have the LP head? In this area you can"t get any "m" sized tractor for less than $500 bucks in any condition due to scrap price. |

| I grew up with L.P. tractors single fronts. I have three l.p.'s two with single fronts. I will always pay more for a l.p. if its all there. IMHO all I.H. l.p.'s are unique and beautiful and wish I could save and restore them all. The original Ensign l.p. eq is no longer available but if its all there and they can be repiared you have something nice for restoration. Just my 2 cents,Tony |

| I have a 450 that came with the Ensign regulator, which wouldn't work, so I had to subsitute an Impco, for now. Where would you recommend that I go to get a rebuild kit for the Ensign? Thanks, Hugh, Hughmc0726@aol.com, 318-465-0797. |

| | I know it makes a difference that it was only a M with a feild lp conversion, but at an auction 2 Saturdays ago in Phx Az, a running, driving, fair tires (13.6-38), 3 wheel, PTO and belly hydraulics, no 3 pt, new paint but not the greatest quality, brought $1200. And it also came with a lp tank from a forklift. Beside it was a 1953 super M gas, running, driving, new but weather cracking 12.4-36 tires, 3wheeler that was once a cotton picker that had been converted to a tractor only, with belly hydraulics and PTO, no 3 pt, and an equal paint job, brought $2000. And I sort of think it had a M block in it. And the 3pt that would fit ither tractor, sold for $200. Maybe the auction ment prices were a little softer than if they had sold privetly, but at any rate, the LP DID not bring as much as gas, and NEVER seams to. Why? No one seams to know what to do to get them filled!!! Sure, if you have a lp tank for your home, and the fittings to fill from it, you can do it yourself. BUT if you don't?!?!? |

| Single front makes no difference on IH. Unlike JD, NF,SH, WF are all interchangeable. As you describe it, stage 1 max $1500, stage 2 max $22-$2500. |

| They are worth about the same as a gas Super M depending on the condition. Thing is, LP burns much cleaner than gas so if it was taken care of then the engine should be in great shape, at least that is what I have been told. In my area, NY, there are no LP's and Ive wanted one for a while so it would be worth a little more to me, down south I believe they are common and probably only worth the same as an SM. the 3 point is aftermarket and if in good condition worth a little extra to someone looking to do some work around the house or farm. |
