1486 good or bad...

Lot of difference in early and late. Biggest difference is late models had pfc, closed center (problematic) hydraulic system. Several differences in engine, fuel inj pump and minor differences in shift levers, park lock, neutral start switch, upholstery, seats etc. Are they any good. Not for me to say as that is what I made my living working on for many years. They were large enough to have the snot worked out of them doing the heavy work on most farms. Of course, most guys jack them up an extra 50 horses which puts a bind on them also.

be ware of the rear end if you want a loader tractor there ok with the full manule trans but if you want to do heavy tillage find out where you can get spare parts cheap because you will have to put something in sooner or later with theis tractors, eavan more so if it was turned up and abused

good luck

Have had one for 20 years and yes it is and earlier model pulled a 9 shank 6500 IH chisel plow for 18 years never a lick of problems all but the stuff there wheres out over time just had the injector pump rebuilt, needs to have A/C updated to the new 134, now I use it for my planting tractor 12 row, cutting hay and hauling 500bu corn wagons to market.
